America's Premier Workers' Compensation Cost Control Data System

Pitcher Insurance Agency, Inc., has partnered with National Insurance Advisory Services, Inc. (NIAS), a 25 year old independent workers compensation claims auditing firm, whose sole function is to:

  • Audit open workers compensation claim files
  • Change reserves
  • Lower premiums 20 - 30%

Pitcher Insurance provides the following services:

  • Experience Modification Factor Verifications and Corrections

The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) often incorrectly calculates experience Modification Factors. We will verify the validity of your present "mod" and will handle the corrections if necessary and justifiable. This is provided on a national, multi-state basis.

  • Mathematical Modeling

We are able to provide mathematical models, based upon your actual premium and loss history, that will show the best possible deductible/premium combination for your business.

What Makes AcuComp® unique?

  • AcuComp® is a Registered Mark by the United States Patent and Trademark Office providing federal pre-emptive rights to its use throughout the United States.

  • An independent audit performed over a five year period by a State Insurance Department proved that the AcuComp® system lowers reserves an average of 30% and experience modifiers an average of 27 points, with a corresponding reduction in workers’ compensation premiums.

  • AcuComp® is Web-based, offering us 24/7, real time access to our client’s workers’ compensation claims information and reports.

Is AcuComp® a “Mod Chop Shop”?

NO. “Contingency” firms look for experience modification mistakes retroactively and then split the savings. AcuComp®is both retrospective and prospective, which results in a permanent drop in an experience modification averaging 28.5 points over time. As long as an insured remains with the program experience modifiers will stay at their lowest possible point.

Why don’t insurance companies do what we do?

They CANNOT for two reasons:

  • The adjusters must set reserves for ultimate settlement as opposed to what can be supported by claim file documents at Unit Statistical plan filing time.

  • The adjusters do not have the policy expiration dates for the past four years

Therefore, they have no way of, nor reason for knowing the unit statistical plan filing dates and rating periods.
